<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide a commercial transaction before a settlement operation, and to instantaneously move to payment by the next customer after the end of payment by one customer. <P>SOLUTION: When the same data as electronic tag data read by an electronic tag reader are not stored in an electronic tag data buffer, the electronic tag data are added to the electronic tag data buffer, and merchandise sale data are acquired based on the added electronic tag data, and added to a merchandise item buffer. When a total output instruction is issued, the total data of the merchandise sale data stored in the merchandise item buffer are output, and the reading operation of the electronic tag reader is stopped.
