The method involves determining base remission spectrum for superimposing color and the moistener by spectrophotometric measurements before starting printing. The remissions spectrum of emulsion section is included continuously as a print at the applied printing plate. The portions of color and moistener in the emulsion layer on the printing form are determined from the remission spectrum by spectral dismantling. The determined color and moistener-portions are compared with desired values and regulation discrepancies are formed for the color and moistener-regulation. An independent claim is also included for a device for the execution of method in offset printing machines.
