NEGATIVE ELECTRODE PLATE FOR NONAQUEOUS SECONDARY BATTERY, AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative plate for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which large irreversible volume of oxide capable of absorbing lithium of SiO and SnO is reduced, which is superior in cycle characteristics and in which there is no need to handle all the time in a low due point environment even after attaching an alkaline metal layer.

SOLUTION: This negative electrode plate has a layer composed of a thin film of alkaline metal or alkaline earth metal on one face or both faces of a current collector. The thin film also has a barrier function to cut off the entry of a gas. The negative electrode plate has the layer of the thin film composed of an active material to store and release lithium.
