<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projecting device which is thinned and has high image quality by correcting chromatic aberration or the like during expanded projection. <P>SOLUTION: A projection optical system unit PU having a dioptric system BS, a curved surface mirror optical system MCS and a light advance varying mirror optical system MHS is mounted on a projector PD. In the projector PD, the first curved surface mirror MC1 and the second curved surface mirror MC2 of the curved surface mirror optical system MCS are arranged so that the optical path of a base light beam BB leading to the first curved surface mirror MC1 may not cross with the optical path of a base light beam BB advancing from the second curved surface mirror MC2.
