<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technique for extracting a secondary structure motif from an RNA sequence group. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of stem candidates of an RNA secondary structure are extracted from data of a plurality of RNA sequences respectively. Stem candidates of respective RAN sequences are used to generate stem graphs. The stem graphs have a plurality of stem candidates as apexes and have apexes connected by sides. A plurality of stem graphs corresponding to a plurality of RNA sequences are analyzed. Similar partial graphs frequently appearing in these stem graphs are extracted frequently appearing stem patterns representing RNA secondary structure motifs. Stem candidate groups of the plurality of stem graphs are classified to generate classification data. The classification data are used to extract similar partial graphs.
