A plasma display device is provided to lower reflectance of incident light and to improve light room contrast by widening an area of a black layer without lowering total luminance by forming the black layer between a scan electrode and a sustain electrode. A scan electrode(110) and a sustain electrode(120) is formed in parallel to each other on an upper substrate. A barrier rib(130) is formed on a lower substrate facing the upper substrate in order to define discharge cells. A first black layer(BM) crosses the discharge cells between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode. A reflecting layer is formed at one surface of a lower substrate direction of the first black layer. The first black layer is formed in parallel to the scan electrode or the sustain electrode. The first black layer is narrower than or equal to a gap(G) between the scan electrode and the sustain electrode. |
