A coupler (10) constructed from a socket (S10) and a plug (P10). The socket (S10) has a valve body (16) and a metal coil spring (17) for urging the valve body (16) in the closing direction. The plug (P10) has a valve body (24) and a metal coil spring (25) for urging the valve body (24) in the closing direction, and the plug (P10) is removably fitted and connected to the socket (S10) and opening both valve bodies in the fitted and connected state to enable both valve bodies to communicate. Elastic body holders (18, 26) are installed on base end sections of both valve bodies (16, 24) such that the valve bodies can reciprocate in the opening/closing direction and can be sealed. The urging means for urging the valve bodies are received in the elastic body holders, and flow paths are formed in the outside of the elastic body holders. Since the metal coil springs are received in the elastic body holders, they are prevented from contacting liquid. |
