An electrical machine having air cooling is used in traction electrical machines of diesel locomotives, for example, in traction generators with air cooling having open cycle ventilation, with consecutive blowing of rotor and stator axial channels. The electrical machine consists of windows for let air in and out, a stator and a rotor having axial channels. Stator and rotor axial channels are implemented on the outer side of stator package and interconnect with output windows in the body. A stator pressure plate is installed from air inlet side being implemented without ventilation ports. This provides a blowing of axial channels of the same airflow without additional constructive elements inside the machine and reduces cooling airflow though the electrical machine.
