摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal device which can perform a high quality display by improving transmittance while keeping moisture resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The electrooptical device is equipped with: a TFT array substrate 10 and a counter substrate 20 holding a liquid crystal layer 50; pixel electrodes 9a mounted on the TFT array substrate 10; and an alignment layer 16 formed on the pixel electrodes 9a and controlling an alignment state of the liquid crystal layer 50. Furthermore, the electrooptical device is equipped with: a sealing material 52 to stick the TFT array substrate 10 and the counter substrate 20 to each other on a seal region 52a along a perimeter of an image display region 10a with the pixel electrodes 9a mounted thereon; and an optical thin film 91 laminated between the TFT array substrate 10 and the pixel electrodes 9a at least on a region of the image display region 10a, from which the seal region 52a is excluded, on the TFT array substrate 10 and having a refractive index with a magnitude intermediate between those of the TFT array substrate 10 and the pixel electrodes 9a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
