PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner facilitating an unlocking operation of a lock and extending/contracting operations of respective pipes. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner has extensible extension wands 20 provided between a hand operation part of a dust collecting hose to be connected to a cleaner body and a suction port body; the extension wands 20 are provided with at least a first pipe 21, a second pipe 30 being stored so as to be extractable in the first pipe 21, extracted from one end of the first pipe 21 and fixed at an optional extension position, and a third pipe 40 being movable between a storage position to be stored inside the second pipe 30 and an extension position extending by being extracted from one end of the second pipe; the second pipe 30, at its one end, is provided with a ring member 60 moving radially to the second pipe 30 and locking and unlocking the third pipe; the first pipe is provided with an operation piece 25 at one end; and the operation piece 25 locks and unlocks the third pipe 40 by radially moving the ring member 60 according to the position of the second pipe 30 and the moving position of the third pipe.
