PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a precise automatic light modulation process by a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the electronic endoscopic apparatus equipped with a video scope and a processor, one rotary shutter is disposed between a lamp and a light guide and is rotated synchronously with one field period so that a transmitting part and a shading part of the rotary shutter pass a luminous flux one after another. The phase of rotation of the rotary shutter is shifted/controlled so that the lightness of the image of the subject is appropriately retained. The shape of the transmitting part of the rotary shutter is set so that the quantity of light is gradually increased as indicated in the increase line N1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
