A synchronization method of the connection status includes: a node requests connection status information from the connected opposite terminal node; the node updates the local connection status according to the returned connection status information. A communication node applies the method. The invention realizes the connection status synchronization, based on the connection status information of the possible out-of-synchronization node synchronization with which of the connected opposite terminal node. Provided keeping the connection it can resume synchronization. And it does not need the high availability frequent connection status synchronization within system, saves the system bandwidth and the processing capacity; also the random switching of the primary and backup device can resume the original connection.
