PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens system in which a GPS receiver is mounted on or connected to a lens device and a GPS information (photographing position data) acquired from the GPS receiver can be output to an external device connected to the lens device, thereby photographing position information can be referred to or used for, for example, editing images. SOLUTION: When a meta data correction system 50 connected to the lens device 10 requests a meta data output, the CPU 16 of the lens device 10 outputs photographing position data acquired from the GPS receiver 40 and photographing direction data acquired from a direction sensor 42, together with the focal distance data, subject distance data and F-value data of a photographic lens.
