PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray diagnostic apparatus reducing time and effort for changing an X-ray photographing condition based on dimension of body thickness of a tested subject, smoothly carrying out an X-ray diagnosis and obtaining a good image. SOLUTION: The X-ray diagnostic apparatus includes a timing calculation part 22 for calculating calculation terminating timing when X-ray radiation is terminated, based on the amount of transmitted X-ray detected by an automatic exposure detector 2. X-ray photographing is carried out for a shorter time than the photographing time under the X-ray photographing condition before correction, occurrence of blurring in the X-ray image is reduced and the X-ray image is obtained in which giving contrast to the X-ray image is made less difficult by making a radiation control part 4 correct the X-ray photographing condition using the body thickness correcting condition corresponding to a photographing item stored to a storing part 12 and control radiation of X-ray from an X-ray tube 1 when the calculation terminating timing is judged by a judging part 23 to be time not before reference termination timing.
