PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a novel marker for exactly diagnosing a cancer, especially a colon cancer and a stomach cancer, and to provide a cancer diagnostic agent, a cancer diagnostic kit, a method for evaluating severity of the cancer and a prognostic method, which utilize the novel marker. SOLUTION: The cancer diagnostic agent, the cancer diagnostic kit, the method for evaluating severity of the cancer and the prognostic method are characterized by containing and utilizing an antibody which recognizes tenascin-C polymer splicing variant.
