PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibrator for a hydraulic buffer capable of measuring a precise damping force characteristic without damaging the hydraulic buffer, by preventing the deformation in the lateral direction of a fixing member without enlarging a hydraulic cylinder. SOLUTION: The vibrator 1 comprises a lower table 3 moved vertically by a vibrating means 2, a lower mounting part 4 that is arranged on the lower table 3 and mounts the lower end of the cylinder of the hydraulic buffer 5, an upper mounting part 7 for mounting the tip of a piston rod 6 of the hydraulic buffer 5, an upper table 9 for pressing the cylinder of the hydraulic buffer 5 supported by the lower and upper mounting parts 4 and 7 toward the lower table 3, and a lifting means 10 that is connected to the lower and to the upper tables 7 and changes the separation distance. The vibrator 1 further comprises at least one guide member 17, that extends in the vertically movable direction of the vibrating means 2 and suppresses the relative displacement, in a direction orthogonal to the vertically moving direction, with respect to the lower table 3 of the upper table 9.
