PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy by reducing a capacity coefficient by reducing impeller shaft thrust in a low rotation area. SOLUTION: This torque converter transmits torque from an engine to the transmission side by fluid. The torque from the engine is inputted to a front cover 11. An impeller 21 constitutes a fluid chamber together with the front cover 11, and a plurality of impeller blades 27 are arranged inside. A turbine 22 has a plurality of blades on the side opposed to the impeller 21, and can output the torque to a transmission. A stator 23 straightens a flow of the fluid flowing to the impeller 21 from the turbine 22. The impeller blades 27 are formed in the shape of reducing the impeller shaft thrust only in the low rotation area. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
