PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable ordinary document scanning and video signal scanning image capturing to be performed in a scanner apparatus, and further, to make the scanner apparatus available as a video monitor in a state that a liquid crystal panel is raised. SOLUTION: The scanner apparatus is configured to operate as a video monitor by displaying a video signal image on a liquid crystal panel 5 in a raised state that the liquid crystal panel 5 and a document presser lid 4 are opened. Furthermore, the scanner apparatus is capable of performing image reading by receiving the reflection light of a document transmitted through the liquid crystal panel 5 by means of a scanner unit by pressing the document placed at the upper face side of the liquid crystal panel by means of the document presser lid 4 in a state that the liquid crystal panel 5 and the document presser lid 4 are closed. The scanner apparatus is also capable of reading and capturing a video signal image displayed on the liquid crystal panel 5 by means of the scanner unit in the state that the liquid crystal panel 5 and the document presser lid 4 are similarly closed.
