PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device reduced in the power consumption of an RF reproduction system circuit and a groove signal reproduction system circuit during the standby of recording operation and the standby of reproduction operation. SOLUTION: In the disk device, a pickup 2 is moved to an unrecorded region and operation of a large portion or a whole portion of a recorded signal reproducing means 4 is stopped during standby of recording operation, a pickup 2 is moved to a recording region and operation of a large portion or a whole portion of a groove signal detecting means 5 recorded signal reproducing means 4 is stopped during the standby of reproducing operation, thereby drastically reducing the power consumption of the circuit.
