PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating light source device which has a small luminous surface area and a small radiation solid angle, a high illumination efficiency, a high output, a high reliability, and a good heat radiation efficiency. SOLUTION: A light source device 1A comprises a laser module 2A. The module includes a heat spreader 8A at a heat radiation side; a heat sink 7 with a diode laser device mounted thereon having a heat radiating fin 7a; the diode laser device 4 having a Peltier element 5, a heat absorption side heat spreader 6, a semiconductor laser array 3 mounted thereon; a temperature sensor 15 mounted under the laser array; and a cylindrical lens 10 mounted to a radiation opening 9a facing a laser radiation surface. The diode laser device 4 and the Peltier element 5 are sealed with a sealing structure material 9. The light source device 1A includes two of such laser modules 2A arranged so that the heat radiation directions of the heatsinks 7 are opposed to each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
