<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily try a program to which a new function is added without hindering regular use in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A trail program is downloaded from a terminal 2 via a network 2 and executed without using software of the image forming apparatus 1. By the trial program, user setting information is referred to and substitute user setting information is referred to via the network. By the trial program, image data of a user is processed and substitute image data is referred to and processed via the network.
