PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging apparatus for detecting a hunching and correcting into an appropriate gain setup, thereby suppressing the hunching. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: a luminance level detection unit 1 for detecting a level of a luminance signal from the luminance signal outputted from a CCD 2; a differential detection unit 3 for detecting a differential by comparing the level of the luminance signal with a predetermined reference value; an oscillation detection unit 5 for detecting hunching by analyzing the level of the luminance signal; a gain setting unit 4 for setting a gain based on the state of detecting the differential and hunching; and an iris driving voltage generation unit 6 for generating a control signal of a lens iris 7 on the basis of the gain.
