PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method in which an abnormal image can be eliminated by securely detecting and correcting a Vt difference due to the linear velocity of a developer agitating member even when the deviation Vt due to the linear speed is generated owing to change with time, under the influence of an environment, etc. SOLUTION: The image forming method has a toner end recovery post-driving mode in which the developer agitating member is driven at a linear speed different from that of toner end recovery after a toner recovery operation, and the difference between Vt of the toner end recovery and Vt when image formation is performed at a linear speed different from that in the toner end recovery is added as a Vt linear speed correction quantity to Vt in image formation of next time using another linear speed to obtain Vt after correction.
