PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing a sulfonylurea compound. SOLUTION: The method for producing the compound of formula (4) involves reacting a reaction mixture of a compound of formula (1) (wherein, X is a halogen atom or the like; and a ring A is a nitrogen-containing heterocycle) with a halogenoformic acid ester, with a heterocyclic compound such as an amino-substituted imidazole.
