Provided is a lithium secondary battery to improve the wettability of an electrolyte solution to an electrode, to increase capacity, to enhance rate characteristics and cycle characteristics and to reduce manufacturing time. The lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode containing a lithium transition metal compound; and a negative electrode containing a graphitized carbon, wherein it uses a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing a block copolymer comprising a hydrophilic portion and a hydrophobic portion. Preferably the amount of the block copolymer is 0.01-20 wt% of the total weight of nonaqueous electrolyte solution. Preferably the block copolymer is a PEO (polyethylene oxide)-PPO (polypropylene oxide) block copolymer. |
