<p>In a process to cut a tubular metal component, a plasma cutting flame head is inserted inside the tube and the head rotates or travels within the tube along a pre-defined track. The tube outer surface is in contact with an outer electrode. The plasma burner head is attached to and manipulated by an industrial robot. The tube inner diameter is less than 100 mm. An independent claim is included for an assembly for the above process, in which either the tube or the plasma cutter, or both, can be rotated or moved along the tube longitudinal axis.</p> |
