Viewing the immersed roller (5) axially, it comprises two (or more) roller shells, each extending over no more than half of the roller circumference. Each is held by fastenings in its working position. They surround the interior of the roller, being held by fastenings to the axle or shaft (14). Fastenings are provided in the end faces of the roller half shells. A ring-locking arrangement used, includes projections engaging recesses and pressing the roller shells against each other. The projections are axially-displaced for locking and release.
