<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer higher in performance than existing printers. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing ASIC 20 equipped with decompression circuit 23 is set in a controller 12 of the printer. The controller 12 is configured to be a unit which decompress non-compressed RGB data from a scanner by the decompression circuit 23 (while a CPU is prevented from decompressing compressed RGB data), and which has the function of compressing the non-compressed RGB data generated from PDL data by the CPU by a compressing circuit 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
