PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved new secondary battery capable of preventing short circuit between first and second tabs drawn out through first and second tab through holes and an electrode assembly caused by a movement reversed to each other. SOLUTION: The secondary battery comprises a case 200 of which one side is opened, an electrode assembly 250 housed in the case, having first and second electrode tabs 215, 225 drawn upward, a deformation preventing part 167 arranged at upside of the electrode assembly, preventing deformation caused by external pressure, an insulation case 160 having first and second tab through holes 163, 165 through which the first and second tabs are penetrated, and a cap assembly 100 covering and sealing the opening of the case.
