<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of effectively preventing clogging of a straightening vane by suppressing a reverse flow due to impact of exhaust gas with respect to a cell wall of an inflow direction upstream side portion of the straightening vane, and eliminating deposition due to adherence of manganese oxide with respect to the straightening vane. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device 2 is provided in a downstream side of an exhaust manifold 11 having in an upstream part, an exhaust collecting part 11a gathering exhaust air from each cylinder into one. The exhaust emission control device is provided with a three-way catalytic converter 21 purifying manganese oxide or the like included in exhaust gas, and the straightening vane 22 provided in the exhaust manifold in a directly upstream side of the three-way catalytic converter, and straightening a flow of the exhaust gas flowing into the three-way catalytic converter. The straightening vane is composed of the inflow direction upstream side portion 22a and an inflow direction downstream side portion 22b comprised of cell structures with respectively opened ends, and an opening area of the cell structure 3a of the inflow direction upstream side portion is larger than an opening area of the cell structure 3b of the inflow direction downstream side portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
