A steering system having a control lever for a tilt or telescopic operation is provided to allow a lever guide section to give a driver operating the control lever a soft operation feeling when the control lever is operated for the tilt or telescopic operation. A steering system having a control lever for a tilt or telescopic operation includes a guide plate(310) and a plate support(320). A stop recess(305) is formed on one side surface of the control lever rotating about a regulation bolt for the tilt or telescopic operation. A stop boss is formed in the guide plate. The stop boss is engaged with the stop recess of the control lever. The guide plate is fixed to the plate support. The guide plate surrounds the control lever on both side surfaces thereof. The stop boss is formed on both side surfaces of the guide plate. The stop boss of the guide plate has a semi-spherical shape.
