PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronizer ring capable of alleviating the wear of a sliding part and a mating material while realizing good power transmission capability, to provide a method for producing the same and to provide a thermal spray powder used in the production method. SOLUTION: A coating film 16 made of a composite material comprising metallic aluminum or an aluminum-based alloy and alumina and having an alumina content of 5 to 25 vol.% is formed on the surface 14 of the sliding part of a substrate 12 by high-speed flame spraying or plasma spraying.
