<p>The invention relates to osmotic devices containing a unitary core which comprises an amantadine salt and an osmotic salt, in which the two salts have a common ion. The amantadine release speed is modified from a first order release profile to a zero order, pseudo zero order or sigmoidal release profile by increasing the quantity of osmotic salt in the core of the device. The osmotic device includes a semi-permeable membrane with a controlled porosity which can be adapted as required in order to co-operate with the osmotic salt in providing a pre-determined drug-release profile. The osmotic salt does not have to be covered and is mixed with the amantadine salt.</p>
