<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifouling device of a structure coming into contact with environmental seawater using an electric catalyst, which prevents interference between an antifouling electric current and a cathodic-protection electric current, and which prevents the surface state of the electric catalyst from being changed by the adhesion/accumulation of an iron ion, a manganese ion, etc., contained in the seawater. <P>SOLUTION: This antifouling device is equipped with the electric catalyst 3 which covers a surface of an anode forming member 4, and an electric conductor 8 which is installed to come into contact with the seawater 15. The antifouling device comprises: a positive electrode 7a which is connected to the member 4 or the electric catalyst 3; and a negative electrode 7b, an automatic potential control part 7c and a switch circuit part 7d, which are connected to the electric conductor 8. The automatic potential control part 7c makes a potential difference between the positive electrode 7a and the negative electrode 7b adjusted to such a value that oxygen is generated while the generation of chlorine is suppressed in the seawater 15. An energization stop time can be set between the positive electrode 7a and the negative electrode 7b by using the switch circuit part 7d. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
