PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress erroneous starting of an engine. SOLUTION: This start control device for a vehicle is equipped with a switch operation state detection means for detecting the state of a switch operation, and a start control means for starting the engine based on the state of the switch operation detected by the switch operation state detection means. When a predetermined operation state where a predetermined switch operation is performed, a non-operation state where a switch operation is not performed, and a continuous operation state where a switch operation is performed continuously over a predetermined period of time, are detected by the switch operation state detection means in this order, the engine is started by the start control means.
