<p>The e.g. polycarbonate, bottle body (1) screws into a skirt (2), trapping the dished metal bottom (3), with peripheral seal (4). Optionally the bottom is moulded within the skirt. The bottom is of stainless steel, optionally laminated with aluminium, or of coated aluminium, under 1 mm thick. The skirt enters a recessed (17,18) hollow moulded base (5,6), the metal bottom contacting a thin aluminium heating plate (9), backed with a resistive heating element (10) and carried on a spring-loaded (13) support plate (12). The bottle is pressed in till secured by a side spring-catch (7). This action closes a central switch (14) under the support plate, energising the element from vehicle battery or mains (C). A thermostat (11) under the element interrupts the supply in the event of overheating.</p> |
