PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid for a garbage treatment device capable of suppressing proliferation of germs or the like in a garbage treatment chamber without wasting any slime preventive agent, and a garbage treatment device having the same. SOLUTION: The garbage treatment device (1) for discharging crushed garbage into a water discharge pipe together with cleaning water comprises a garbage treatment chamber (8) with a garbage throw-in port (2) which is also used for a water discharge port being formed in an upper part thereof, crushing means (16, 18) for crushing the garbage thrown in from the garbage throw-in port, a driving means (12) for driving the crushing means, and a lid (30) having a chemical accommodation unit (39) for accommodating a slime preventive agent and attached to the garbage throw-in port. The lid is attached to the garbage throw-in port movably between the first position at which the lid is arranged when crushing the garbage to prevent or suppress flow-in of cleaning water in the chemical accommodation unit, and the second position at which cleaning water flows into the garbage treatment chamber through the chemical accommodation unit.
