METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CORRECTING RETARDATION FILM THICKNESS UNEVENNESS, RETARDATION FILM WITH CORRECTED THICKNESS UNEVENNESS, ELLIPTICALLY POLARIZING PLATE USING THE RETARDATION FILM AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting thickness unevenness of a retardation film and a device for correcting thickness unevenness thereof capable of easily correcting the thickness unevenness of the retardation film, to provide a retardation film with corrected thickness unevenness, to provide an elliptically polarizing plate using the retardation film, and to provide a liquid crystal display device using the elliptically polarizing plate.

SOLUTION: The method for correcting thickness unevenness comprises: a process of detecting the thickness unevenness of the retardation film; and a process of filling recessed parts of the thickness unevenness and shaving protruded parts thereof, whereby the thickness unevenness of the retardation film is corrected. The recessed parts of the thickness unevenness can be filled according to an inkjet method. The device 1 for correcting thickness unevenness of the retardation film comprises: a means 2 of detecting the thickness unevenness of the retardation film F; a means 3A of filling the recessed parts of the thickness unevenness; and/or a means 3B of shaving the protruded parts of the thickness unevenness.
