PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting apparatus, particularly to provide an ink jet recorder capable of suitably discharging an ink in a nozzle opening and suitably judging the ink end of an ink cartridge based on the information about the time when the ink cartridge is manufactured. SOLUTION: A liquid jetting apparatus of the invention uses a liquid container 1 having a liquid chamber 1a that contains liquid and a storing part 27 that stores information about a time when the liquid container is manufactured. The liquid jetting apparatus includes a container-setting portion 36 at which the liquid container 1 is set, a head member 17 having a nozzle opening, a liquid communicating conduit 17a that makes the interior of the liquid chamber 1a of the liquid container 1 set at the container-setting portion 36 communicate with the nozzle opening, and an information reader 38 that reads out the information stored in the storing part 27 of the liquid container 1. A liquid discharging unit 23a that causes the liquid to be discharged from the nozzle opening is controlled based on the information about the time when the liquid container is manufactured.
