<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for automatically correcting the red eyes in a digital image. <P>SOLUTION: The system for correcting an image comprises a detection module for specifying the probability that a pixel is in a red eye, with respect to each of multiple pixels in the digital image; a classifier module for classifying patches of the image, including consecutive pixel areas at least having a threshold probability that the pixel is in the red eye, and for discriminating the patch having the probability of including the red eye from the patch having the probability of including at least either facial error or background error; and a correction module for specifying correction, applied to the pixel in the consecutive pixel areas in the patch discriminated that the classifier has the probability of including the red eye. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
