A transflective LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the transflective LCD are provided to simplify a lower array substrate manufacturing process by forming a thick organic insulating pattern instead of a passivation layer, thereby improving the aperture ratio of the transflective LCD. A transflective LCD includes an upper array substrate(250), a lower array substrate(270), and a backlight unit. The upper array substrate includes a gate line, a data line(204) intersecting the gate line, a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) formed at the intersection of the gate line and the drain line, an organic passivation pattern(222) superposed on the data line and the TFT, and a pixel electrode(232) superposed on the data line having the organic passivation pattern formed between the pixel electrode and the data line. The lower array substrate includes a dispersion film(224) for dispersing external light, a reflection pattern(228) formed on the dispersion film in a reflection region, a color filter layer(254) formed on the reflection pattern and the dispersion film, and a common electrode(256) covering the color filter layer. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the upper and lower array substrates. The backlight unit irradiates light to the lower array substrate.
