The seat has its base (1) connected to a floor chassis (3) by levers (5, 6) that form a deformable quadrilateral with the chassis and seat base. The position of the levers and the seat back can be adjusted so that the seat is tilted downwards relative to the floor and the the back has its rear surface (20) parallel to the floor so it can be used as a shelf. The seat is adjusted by a regulating mechanism in two separable parts (13, 14), one for the seat back and one for the rear lever, providing a variety of positions for a seated passenger's comfort.
