PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition which little has risks, when orally taken, and has a higher blood glucose level-inhibiting or lowering action than that of a case wherein saponin is singly used.

SOLUTION: This composition for inhibiting the blood glucose level elevation comprises at least triterpene-based saponin and/or its aglycon, and zinc gluconate. The composition has little risks, when orally administered, and has a higher blood glucose level-inhibiting or lowering action than that of a case wherein saponin is singly used.
