<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring the wear of a carbon brush commutator in a motor which is electrically commutated, and used as a pump motor in a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for measuring the wear of the carbon brush commutator having a plurality of carbon brushes in a commutating direct current motor, especially in the pump motor of the vehicle, the wear of at least one carbon brush is measured dependently on the temporal property of a generator-motor voltage (U<SB>G</SB>). The device for measuring the wear of the carbon brush commutator of which the direct current motor is driven by using at least two carbon brushes is provided with a means for measuring an after-running voltage like a generator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
