PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new softener improved in the following problem: though W/O emulsion type silicone processing agents having good stability have been used as conventional silicone-based softeners and usual soft and flexible hand feel can be obtained when wool fabrics, cotton jeans and the like are soft processed by using the processing agents, but it has been difficult to obtain soft hand feel with bulky and voluminous feeling removed in cores from the fabrics, therefore, the development of a new softener improved in the problem is eagerly required, especially in the wool industry. SOLUTION: Though conventional silicon-based softening processing agents have been W/O type emulsion-based agents having high stability, a technique for stably producing an O/W liquid crystal emulsion type silicone processing agent (softener) for fibers that has been difficult to establish has been found and is used to solve the problem. By processing the fabrics using the O/W liquid crystal emulsion type silicone oil processing agent (softener) for fibers, it is possible to obtain the soft hand feel with bulky and voluminous feeling removed in cores of the fabrics that has not been obtained with conventional silicone-based softeners.
