PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus from which daily water such as drinking water can be obtained without using fuel while dispensing with a pump for pumping up water of a water source even in an area having no power source such as a disaster-stricken area. SOLUTION: The water treatment apparatus is provided with: a membrane filtration unit 1 in the main body 2 of which a membrane unit 3 is housed and which is sunk to the bottom of the water source such as a pond, a lake and a river and arranged in a submerged state; a blower 4 for sending air to the membrane unit 3 of the membrane filtration unit 1 from the lower part thereof; a suction pump 5 for sucking the water filtered by the membrane filtration unit 1 and sending the sucked water to a water receiving tank 7; a water pump 12 for withdrawing water from the water receiving tank 7; and a photovoltaic power generation unit 14 for driving each of pumps 5, 12 and the blower 4.
