PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing silver ion-containing water and a production apparatus. SOLUTION: The apparatus 100 for producing the silver ion-containing water comprises a water electrolytic cell 110 including an anode 111 formed by metallic silver, a cathode 112, a water introduction part 130 and a water discharge part 140, wherein a distance between the anode 111 and the cathode 112 is not shorter than 2 mm and not longer than 15 mm. The method for producing the silver ion-containing water using this production apparatus 100 comprises applying a fixed voltage between the anode 111 and the cathode 112, and streaming water between the anode 111 and the cathode 112 at a flow rate of 1 cm/s or larger.
