PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particulate phosphor stably emitting light with high intensity for a long time and to provide a method, etc., for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing particulate phosphor comprises a preparation step S1 preparing the raw material solution for the particulate phosphor, a spraying and pyrolysis step S2, a surface processing step S3 and a light emission activating step S4. In the surface processing step the particulates obtained by pyrolysis step are cleaned with water, an acid, a base, a salt or a fluxing agent. The product particulates have 0.2-0.6μm of average particle diameter and contain 5% or less of particulate with≥1μm of diameter. The invention provides nearly spherical particulate phosphor by improving irregularity of the surface of the particulate phosphor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
