PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium wherein an end part of a magnetic layer is hardly damaged and which has high productivity, to provide its manufacturing method and to provide a washing and removing device suitable for manufacturing the magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium, the magnetic layer 2 is formed on a disk like supporting body 1, the magnetic layer includes magnetic particles having a CuAu type or Cu3Au type ferromagnetic ordered alloy phase and the outside diameter of the magnetic layer is smaller than that of the disk like supporting body. The manufacturing method of the magnetic recording medium includes a step for applying alloy particles capable of forming the CuAu type or Cu3Au type ferromagnetic ordered alloy phase on the disk like supporting body to form a coated film, a step for subjecting the coated film to annealing to form the magnetic layer and a step for washing and removing at least one part of either end part of the coated film and the magnetic layer to make the outside diameter of the magnetic layer smaller than that of the supporting body. The washing and removing device 10 is provided with a holding means holding the disk like supporting body and a spraying means spraying a washing liquid toward the end part of the coated film or the magnetic layer on the disk like supporting body.
