PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker comprising a heating plate having controlled heat radiation and subjected to a treatment for improving wear resistance. SOLUTION: A surface 15 of a metal heating plate base member 13 which faces a pot is applied with non-adhesive coating 14 added with diamond particles, and has surface finish having a far infrared radiation rate higher than that of a surface 16 facing a lid body.
